Call for Application:

LSA 2026 Documentary Filmmaking Workshop

The LSA calls for application for its inaugural documentary filmmaking workshop as part of the 10th annual LSA Conference (June 16-21, 2026). The workshop will commence on June 11. It will cover core elements of documentary filmmaking, including but not limited to storytelling, scriptwriting, funding, editing, directing, shooting, and marketing and distribution.

Deadline: January 1, 2026

Selected candidates will receive:

1)     11 nights of hotel accommodation

2)     Breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 10 days

3)     Registration fee waiver/reimbursement

4)     Transportation allowance

Eligibility

1)     Must be advanced PhD students (post field) or PhD holders who defended after January 2020.

2)    Both Nigeria-based and international scholars are eligible to apply. But only Nigeria-based participants will receive hotel accommodation, transportation allowance, and registration fee waiver.

3)     Must be presenting a paper at LSA 2026 Conference
