Call for Application:

LSA 2027 Documentary Filmmaking Workshop

The LSA calls for application for the second edition of its annual documentary filmmaking workshop as part of the 11th annual LSA Conference (June 15-19, 2027). The workshop will commence on Friday, June 11 and continue throughout the conference period (June 19). It will cover core elements of documentary filmmaking, including but not limited to storytelling, scriptwriting, funding, editing, directing, shooting, and marketing and distribution.

Deadline: January 1, 2027

Selected candidates will receive:

1)     9 nights of hotel accommodation

2)     Breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 8 days

3)     Registration fee waiver/reimbursement

4)     Transportation allowance

Eligibility

1)     Scholars regardless of their educational background, field, and level. Must have at least an MA or MSc.

2)    Both Nigeria-based and international scholars are eligible to apply. But only Nigeria-based participants will receive hotel accommodation, transportation allowance, and registration fee waiver for LSA Conference.

3)     Must be presenting a paper at LSA 2027 Conference
